Deserters get second chance
Deserters get second chance
Our wonderful government has managed to yet again insert its own head up its arse.
Their claiming that the American deserters might have a case here in the land of the beaver. The Federal courts ruled the Canada’s refugee board was mistaken in law when it denied asylum to them.
As I’ve mentioned in the past I have a long history with the Defense Department of Canada, so I think I’m qualified to comment on this. Like that would stop me anyways, but in this case it’s actually true.
These women and men all signed up to serve in what ever branch of the military they chose to, did so completely of their own free will. No one held a gun to their head, threatened or coerced them into this decision. I’m sure they benefited from the training and pay.
If our loony toon court system lets them stay here in Canada as refugees we’ll be saying more than you think. Let’s start with; it’s Ok for all deserters of the world to come here. Promote the fact that maybe Canadian soldiers should claim refugee status within our own country. Hell if it worked for Americans it should surely work for Canadians as well. This is just the tip of the iceberg.
The biggest thing we would be declaring to the world would be the war against Iraq and Afghanistan are indeed illegal wars. Canada, United States, Germany, United Kingdom, France, Australia, New Zealand, only to mention a few, would all be party to killing both foreign combatants as well as our own citizens. I won’t even go into the scores of innocent civilians that have been killed by this so called illegal war.
I think you see my point, if we give these people asylum for a crime that they’re truly guilty of, we might as well pull our troops out of there right now and anywhere else we might be at this time.
Let these individuals face the music in their own countries for the crimes they are charged with and stop wasting my tax dollar in defending them. I can personally think of better things to spend it on and lawyers are not one of them.
What they’re afraid of is prosecution not persecution.
Cheers.
